Upcare Physiological serum
The saline solution facilitates hygiene for infants, children, and adults. It is a mixture of distilled water and sodium chloride. Its “isotonic” tonicity is similar to that of blood. It is particularly useful for caring for mucous membranes without irritating them. Upcare Physiological serum is tolerated by everyone. .
Usage
To clean your baby’s nose, lay them down with their head tilted to one side. Gently insert the tip into the nostril and press lightly on the single-dose container to obtain the desired amount of solution.
Raise your baby’s head and wipe away any excess liquid.
Then leave the serum to work for a few minutes.
The dosage for the saline solution is 1 wash in each nostril 1 to 6 times a day, as needed.
Here’s how you can use it effectively:
- Nasal Hygiene: Nasal hygiene is essential for babies’ health and well-being. Babies aged 0 to 6 months breathe only through their nose. This means that babies’ nostrils can easily become blocked and require special care. Saline solution is perfect for this purpose. Lay your baby on their back and gently hold their head to one side. Then place the tip at the entrance to their nose and apply the saline solution. Next, raise their head and let the mucus drain out. You can then wipe it away thoroughly with a tissue.
- Nasal Irrigation: Physiological serum can also be used for nasal irrigation to flush out mucus, allergens, and other irritants from the nasal passages. You can use a nasal irrigation device, such as a neti pot or a nasal bulb syringe, to perform nasal irrigation. Fill the device with the physiological serum and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use.
- Post-Nasal Surgery Care: Physiological serum may be recommended by healthcare professionals for post-nasal surgery care to keep the nasal passages clean and moist. Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions for the appropriate use of physiological serum in this context.
- Contact Lens Care: Physiological serum can also be used to rinse and clean contact lenses. Ensure that the physiological serum is sterile and free from contaminants before using it for contact lens care.
- Wound Cleansing: In some cases, physiological serum can be used for wound cleansing, particularly for minor cuts, scrapes, or burns. Use it to gently clean the wound and remove any debris or dirt. Always consult with a healthcare professional for proper wound care management.
- Hygiene and First Aid: Keep a bottle of physiological serum handy in your first aid kit for various hygiene and first aid purposes, such as cleaning small wounds, flushing debris from the eyes, or diluting medications for nasal administration.
